5 out of 5 stars Have to get my hair cut every 2 weeks now!   August 27, 2010
JFW (Bethlehem, PA United States)
I originally started taking these for the heart and inflammatory benefits. After about a month on this stuff I started noticing that my hair was growing like crazy. I've been getting my haircut religiously every three weeks on the dot for years. However, when I started taking this product, I was noticing at about a week and a half that my hair was starting to look a little shaggy. By the time three weeks hit, I was a mess. I walked in to get my 3 week cut and right away my stylist pointed out how long my hair was. Thinking it was just a fluke (fish pun not intended), I gave it another 3 weeks. Same thing happened. At the 1.5 week point I was starting to need a cut again and by 3 weeks I looked like a werewolf. The second time I went for the cut, my stylist again noticed the length of my hair and this time asked if I started taking vitamins. I told her yes, and mentioned this product. She said that must be it. Since then, I have increased my hair appointments to 2 weeks instead of 3.

Obviously having to pay for more haircuts isn't a great thing but clearly this little "side effect" demonstrates that this product is for real. I can imagine that it's benefiting my skin as well, and hope that it's helping my heart. I don't really monitor my heart health so I don't know how well it's worked in that regard, but at the very least, I can attest to the quality of the ingredients in this product.

1 out of 5 stars Vegetarian having trouble   August 9, 2010

I eat only vegetables. So i can easily sense when i eat an animal derived food. This fish oil maybe much much better than what you have seen yet but i have seen and used better. I have 3 brands of Fish oil with me. The most pure one is derived directly from Algae, has EPA:DHA 50:350mg and its called V pure from Water4. This is what i use all the time. The second one that i consider less pure but still better than Nordic is Super Omega 3 from Wonder Laboratories created using molecular distillation from Fish oil of sardines/anchovies/mackerel made in USA. This has EPA:DHA 400:600mg and is very similar to Nordic except its better and very cheap. The third one i used is this Nordic Ultimate omega which also has EPA:DHA 400:600mg from sardines/anchovies made in Norway.

I cracked open all these three capsules in my mouth using teeth and then tasted and smelt the oil to find any presence of fishy fish. Vpure and SuperOmega3 had no taste of fish what so ever. Nordic has a little fishy bitterness. Vpure and SuperOmega3 had no fishy smell either, i let it dry in my hand for sometime smelt it again. Nordic still had the fishy smell. If i eat a capsule it should not give me burpy after tastes. Nordic's fishy taste mixed with lemon gave me a feeling of something warm and slightly distasteful in my throat and mouth long after i had ingested it and i didnt like it. There is no point spending so much for not the best stuff in market.

5 out of 5 stars Fish oil benefits, no taste   August 8, 2010

Bought these based on reviews of the omega three content, the purity, and the taste. Mild lemon taste as you swallow. Not fishy at all. Keep them in the frig to keep them fresh.

Lemony instead of fishy is the achieved aim. Not cheap, but not unpleasant. I'm sold.

These fish oil pills are better than any other brand I've had as far as not tasting fishy. They do still occasionally cause "lemony" burps, but not very often. When I take these religiously each day I can breath better when I run (I have exercise induced asthma). I would recommend them to anyone.
