Would have gotten a 5 if... September 9, 2010 Randy (Edmonds, WA USA) It had software that worked on a Mac.
The display is good. The unit is easy to use. Checked the accuracy of it by counting steps. Accuarcy was good. Only downer is I am not sure how I am going to clear the memory when it gets full since I have a Mac. Guess I will just have to reset it with a paper clip. That will require me to re-enter all the settings i.e., stride length, weight, time, etc. That kind of sucks.
Omron Pedometer HJ-720ITC September 6, 2010 Life is Great! (Houston, TX) I am giving this product 3 stars because the battery lasted about 4 months and it worked well. I started using it in April and by the middle of August the pedometer was dead. Several reviews mentioned that this pedometer would not work when replacing the battery, after a year or so. I ordered it thinking it would probably last a year. I am not planning to spend money or time replacing the battery. I didn't use the software, so I can't comment on that (no time). I had the option of getting it through Costco, but chose Amazon because of the $5.00 difference. I have not contacted Amazon about this issue, but I know Costco would have solved this problem by now.
Love it / Hate it August 31, 2010 Keith R. Wahl 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love the accuracy of this pedometer. However, it has some major drawbacks. If one does not offload the data, it stops working. Moreover, if it is given as a gift and one has a Mac, the software is useless (and one cannot download the data and the item stops working). Another problem is that the software uses MS Access as a back end and Access database files of the vintage are highly likely to become corrupt (which it has several times over the last four years). By the way, it has been four years and they are yet to update the software, which should say something as well. So while I would say that it is a great pedometer, the promise behind the software is not worth the cost. Buy the HJ-112 and a notebook and use along with a standard spreadsheet and you will be better off.

This pedometer works great in your pocket, on your waistband, on your purse strap. It seems to be very accurate. It is relatively small and compact. Love it!
